I'm looking for a scope for my Encore muzzle loader. I would like something from the 1-5x range. My budget is $200 or less. So far I'm considering the following:
Leupold 1-4x20 VX-I muzzle loader scope Bushnell 1.5-4.5x32 Elite 3200 w/firefly Burris 1.75-5x20 Fullfield II Pentax Gameseeker 1.75-5x20 Any thoughts on the ones I'm lloking at? Is there any I missed which I should consider? |

Look at the Weaver V3 (1x3 power). Used one for years on a slug gun.

Might try 3200 2-7x32...I have 2 on 12ga slug guns and they've held up perfectly.

You could go with either a Bushnell Legend 2-7x32, very clear glass, and around 112 to 115
dollars. Or you could save and spend a little more and go with the I.O.R. fixed power 4x32, which has some of the most amazing glass I have ever seen in a scope backed by a great lifetime warranty. Over the years I have tried Nikon Monarch's, Burris Fullfield II's, and the Super Sniper series of scopes. All are good, and I believe brighter than Leupold. But the glass on the I.O.R.'s convinced me to switch over all my scopes to the I.O.R. line. That includes my tactical scope. |
