I know they make a lens cleaner pen . Didn't know if you guys had a method that worked without buying the pen . Just wanted your advice before I made a assumption . Normally would just use cloth but I have a couple spots that won't come off . Thank you gentlemen.

Steel wool works best if it's...just kidding!

The pen is for dislodging debris that can scratch the lens surface. With loose particulates gone, lens paper or a clean lens cloth, moving in circulate motions should do the trick.
Avoid any chemicals that might compromise the coatings., so no glass cleaners or harsh chemicals.

Do you know what the spots are?

I clean scope lenses the same as my camera lenses.  I use ear swabs and rubbing alcohol to get the filth off and then clean with ear swabs and clean water.  Distilled water if you have it.  I have had great results from this method and it doesn't take any of the coatings off.  The cheap polyester ear swabs are the best.

Like the ear swab technique . Last time I had it out it was raining . It's on a ar 15 so oil shoots out around top of charge handle . I've fixed that with blue rtv .
