Hello OT
I am a big fan of western movies my favorite bieng the spaghetti westerns by Sergio leon and music by Ennino Marcione. At the top of my list is Ounce upon a time in the West with Charles Bronson. I know that alot of forum members here might have some very good recomendations on some great obscure classics. I would like to know your favorites. |

Good subject....... Is "Debbie Does Dallas" considered a cowboy movie??
Well, not sure it's a "cowboy movie" either, but Jeremiah Johnson is probably my favorite movie of all time. |

Here are some classics
"Red River"
"The Alamo"
"The Wild Bunch"
"The Magnificent Seven"
"Quigley Down Under" - not exactly a western
"High Noon"
Here are some "new" classics
"Open Range"
"Dances with Wolves"
"Lonesome Dove" - This is one of the best. It was one of the best books I ever read and I fully expected the movie (made for TV) to disappoint. It didn't.
These should keep you busy for a while. |

I've liked Duval in just about everything he's done, but he is perfect as Gus, but just about everybody in the movie was perfectly cast. I never get tired of watching it, and I've read the book 5 times. |

My brother hadn't read a book in 20 years when I convinced him to try Lonesome Dove. I knew he liked it when my phone rang at 3:30AM and my brother was on the line... "Gus died; you didn't tell me Gus died!"
Get it and read it; you'll be glad you did. |

Thank you Mwyates, that is a strong recomendation I will buy it and read it. Do any of you guys like the Good the Bad and the Ugly, if so who's performance and character do you like the most Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleff, or Eli Wallach. Cheap I also recommend "Rawhide" with Carmen Luvana, that one will get Debbie on the trail's end again. |

I liked Eli Wallach. The "Dollars" movies were great, too. In later years, I like "The Unforgiven". The Dirty Harry movies were OK, but not near as good as his westerns, I didn't think. |

I liked tombstone. Val Kilmer did a pretty good job of playing doc holliday i.m.o. But i also liked unforgiven with clint eastwood. And most people that i asked thought it was boring.
