Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

They were/are both made in Japan. Right not they are completely made in Japan for SWFA. They are not assembled in the US. I honestly don't think they ever have been.
There has been several different companies that owned the Super Sniper rights. Originally it was spec'ed out by the Navy for a specific task. I don't recall the company that originally designed it. Tasco I believe was the 2nd or third owner of the brand. When the bought the rights the scopes were good quality. But like all things Tasco, they turned them into crap scopes by cutting corners to try and make a buck. SWFA bought the rights and had them spec'ed out to a much higher quality level. They also have done a few upgrades to them over the years like better optics and tougher internals. They have also designed the HD line which is a completely different optic than the original super snipers. They are even made in a different factory in Japan. They HD line has very high end optics and the mechanical aspects are very reliable and precise. The also changed the name from super sniper to SS. Both lines are superb scopes, especially for the price points. They will complete with optics costing quite a bit more. There are a lot of us on this forum who have a lot of time with SS scopes, so hopefully we will be able to get all your questions answered. Edited by supertool73 - May/16/2016 at 10:23 |

SWFA holds the rights to the Super Sniper name and patient. The new scopes that Chris and the gang have spec'd out are far superior to the original. IMHO.
