Hi. I have a Remington model 7 in 300 blackout (The AAc model). I used it last season for hunting and did so with an aimpoint which I like a lot. I decided to try a 1-4 to see if I would like that more for woods hunting. I bought a Trijicon 1-4 with the german #4 reticle. My problem is that with low Warne rings installed, I'm seeing the barrel up about 3/4 of the way up the bottom post. I mocked up a plastic tube to correct diameter to simulate a suppressor that I have coming and it gets worse and very close to the center point. This rifle comes with a 20 MOA rail installed. Would changing to a 0 MOA rail help enough and maybe go with medium height rings which would gain me .125" in ring height? Anyone have this issue before?

OK I found  couple old threads that apparently this is normal. Can I realistically minimize it? Thanks.

The lower the power the wider the field of view.  Going to a 0 moa and medium rings will help some but raise the power to 4x and see what you are getting. One can get onto things pretty quickly up to about 6x.

Pretty much anything 2xish and under your are going to see the barrel. The longer the barrel the more u see.

Good scope choice by the way. I have one of those and love it.

OK thanks guys. Im gonna order a 0MOA Talley base and warne rings from the SWFA site here and see what happens. I totally get what you are saying about moving up in power. The reason I like to stalk hunt with a 1x something is cause I have numerous times snuck up on buck in dense evergreens or logged off sapling areas. In some cases, things get kind of heated and fast under 20 yards.

Where u are that close to the barrel its not going to make much diff. Even on an ar with as high as they are above the bore i still see a 16" barrel. I honestly think u will be wasting tour money buying a different base.
