Howdy, I am new so have fun. I am in the process of choosing a new scope but with little practical experience other than the old 3-9's I have hunted with for 50 years. After doing lots of reading I have picked out what I think I would like. Leopold 4-14x50 model number 65490 Mil dot Parallax FFP Zeroing turrets with no shims 50 mm objective Good glass This one looks perfect but its pricy for me so can anyone suggest a close replacement that would provide quality but a lower price? Thanks

A good alternative would be the 3-15X42 Super Sniper ffp Mil-quad. It will do everything the Leupold at half the price. I have the Leupold 4-14X50, and just received my second 3-15 Super Sniper. I like the SS better. You are only 2 hours from SWFA in Midlothian, TX. It would be to your advantage to drive up and look at both side by side. They are good people and have all the good toys.
And welcome to the OT. |

I too am getting "boring". My SS 3-9x just does it for me on so many levels.
Same could be said of my VX-R 3-9x.......yawn.

cheaptrick ....You sound like a dinosaur, probably shoot a boring ol' 30 06 or 270. Loved the ol' Conquest too.

I still do, i have 2 of the Plane Jane 3-9x, will keep them as long as the rifles, which is a long time. But i also have the coolest of the Conquests, the 2.5-8x32 mounted in seamless Conetrol rings. On a boring old 6 mm Remington. No frills, no gimmicks, just wonderful optics, point and shoot. Dead deer. Drag, load, butcher, drink beer, repeat. |
