Sometimes, at this time of year, I sit down and remember where I was 20-30 years ago.  The same thing with the Fourth of July.

Anybody else?

35 years ago my new wife and I spent New Years Eve at the Four Aces in Glenrock, Wyoming....

Happy New Year everybody!

35 years ago; I was probably riding a beat and making runs on late watch.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Glad everyone has survived 2015. I guess it is time to shut it down and go home. 3 hrs till the New Year here.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.

Thirty five yrs ago I was deciding which armed service to enlist in. I wanted to go Marines but my Mom was terrified that I would be sent overseas and she would never see me again. (The Iran hostage crisis during the Carter administration ). In respect to Her and against my better judgment I joined the Coast Guard February that yr. I don't regret the education and skills I got from the Coast Guard but, it was not a great experience. Carter had defunded the military and we had some real lazy dirt bags running things where I was stationed. I did build a good construction career in the private sector after my six yrs in. Man! That seems like a looong time ago................

Happy New Year Everybody!!

Take care of Soldiers, Show em how its done and do it with em, Run to the Fight & and hold your ground! I die my men go home! If you're a NCO and this ain't you. GET OUT! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Mr Party Animal ( me ) went to bed at about ten o'clock last night.    Whatever

Oh!!  My daughter, Jordan, and I went out to Outback Steakhouse in Arlington by ourselves ( her daughter was visiting Grandma..) and pigged-out on Steaks and fish. We had a couple of Rum Punches.  Nice and quiet and private and cozy in a booth.  We laughed our asses off.
