Everyone should work there… they are paying 40 hour days (everything after 8 is overtime, of course).
Great things happen in government run businesses… And it's all free...

Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.
There are some who do not fear death... for they are more afraid of not really living |

I'll ride a train for that. It would be like stealing.

The engineer who crashed me into our parked freight train in 1998 was a former AMTRAC driver....

I like trains. I remember riding the train when I was a kid from Looneyville to Clarksville, Tn., and from Little Rock to Looneyville. It took a little longer than you could drive it, but they were fun trips. There is a reason rail roads dropped passenger service but kept freight service, and it's all about money. Now I won't deny that there are certain parts of the country that can use passenger trains, but why Govco has to do it instead of contracting it out to a private rail road is beyond me. If there is a profit to made in passenger service, then a rail road will make it. The Federal Government just waist my money.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I've taken (in the past) the Auto train from Sanford FL to Lorton VA on several occasions. It was rather nice and sweet to have your own vehicle there too. It was (however) getting rather pricey.

The auto train lasted about 1 year here, and that was a long time ago. They only offered one destination that I remember, and not everybody wants to go to Fla..

Diesels made me loose interest in railroading, but steam engines are very expensive to operate.
