Scope newb here.

I just bought a used cooper 57m.  It came with 30mm rings.  I was looking around at rimfire scopes and noticed they were all 1".  Does anyone know of a scope for .22wmr that is 30mm?  Id like to keep the rings on it.

The way i understand it is the scope has to match the caliber, right?

I wouldnt be shooting past 200 yards.  Mostly plinking, but I would like to hunt with it as well.

How is your M-57 stocked? Classic, MTV, Jackson. I prefer a 1" with 36mm objective on my Coopers. Most of them have nice slim lines. A larger objective tends to look top heavy.  The only one I would consider a 30mm scope on would be the MTV. The beefier stock and barrel can carry the size. The SS 10X rear focus mil quad reticle is a 30 mm scope and would be good choice on the MTV. This scope has plenty of adjustment range for stretching the the range of the .22 WMR with the mill reticle to shoot drops and wind .

Hi 3 tens,  thanks for the response!

It is a 57-M custom classic.

I think one of Leupold VX-R scopes would look good. Perhaps the 2-7x33. The new Leica ER5 1.5-8X32 is probably a good option as well.

ILya nailed it with the VXR. If this is your first Cooper I foresee more in your future. If it is not your first you already know what I mean.
