File under t'ings I never knowed:

The B-52 has landing gear that can stay aligned with the runway even if the plane isn't.
Reaction time is a factor...

I knew that.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

One flew over low as we buried dad, it was not planned but was appreciated. An old warrior paying respect to another!

Condolences sent. Brothers or sisters are harder to loose than a parent.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow

Sorry to hear of your loss. Hang in there. That flyover was a fitting tribute.

Yep, that steering keeps B52's from ripping the gear off during crosswind landings, or so a couple of my wrench buds from TAFB have told me.
They've also told me that the KC-135 tanker used for midair refueling has it's engines power limited because they could rip the wings off at full tilt.
Also, F-22 pilots have to carefully limit throttle during take-off because the plane will otherwise too quickly reach speeds that would rip the gear off before they can retract.

Dang Steel, it's been heaped on you lately. I'm very sorry for the loss of your brother. Was he in the Air Force?

No Army.  We are a family of squids, ground pounders and jarheads. Sorry Mark, no airdales in the family! Thanks guys, its been a rough year but the man upstairs didn't promise us easy street. You learn to roll with the punches, Bob wouldn't want to hear me whining ergo, I don't. We only lose love ones if we choose to forget them. That ain't gonna happen.

My condolences too.

The day after my dad passed away, two C-130s flew low right over our house. It was special because military planes always give this Air Force brat a thrill, aircraft like that almost never are in our area and the last Air Force project he was part of was the C130-J.

Awesome, will be a fond memory of your dad.  I only mentioned this whole thing because that fly over during dads burial.  Seeing the 52 brought back memories of that day and gave me time to remember my dad too.
