I'm looking for a load for 25-.06 in 117 grain bullet.  My reloading book jumps from 110 to 120 so it is a little help but not much.  I will be using this load for whitetail deer, up here on the prairie shots range from 50-300 yards or so.  If anyone has a good recipe for this load it would be greatly appreciated if you would share.  Thanks.

Trevor,

I do not personally load for the 25-06 but I do have a complete set of up to date manuals that have loads for the 117 grain bullets, specifically Hornady and Sierra. Both manuals reference RL-22 and IMR-4831 as preferred powders.

Hornady

RL-22 - 48.1gr (2700 fps) to 56.1gr (3100 fps). Overall cartridge length is 3.170"

IMR-4831 - 46.3gr (2700 fps) to 51.6gr (3000 fps). Same OAL.

Sierra

RL-22 - 42.5gr (2700 fps) to 50.5gr (3100 fps). Overall cartridge length is 3.130"

IMR-4831 - 38.9gr (2700 fps) to 50.9gr (3100 fps). Same OAL.

Sierra gives the top charge of RL-22 as their recommended accuracy load and the top charge of IMR-4831 as their recommended hunting load.

I hope this info is helpful.

Jim

Thats perfect, exactly what I wanted.  Anyone else have a load that they like?  The only thing I've loaded so far is 87 grain sierra btsp for coyotes.  Thanks again.

I'm not sure if you can get to this site without being a member.
