That's what their supposed to do. Your scope is working properly.
Left and right, up and down refer to bullet impact. Edited by cheaptrick - March/07/2015 at 16:16 |

When you adjust your scope think of it as MOVING THE BULLET HOLE. See that big hole in that circle up there? I would click my scope one inch RIGHT and four inches DOWN to hit the X ring. |

Yes but on my adjustments it says up and right . So if I had to adjust my scope to your same target I would have to turn the RIGHT asjustmenent it has an arrow pointing with the letter R left or the opposite of the arrow marked R to make the cross hairs to go right on center and up to make it go down to center. So my adjustment would be 1left and 4 up to hit the center.??!!!! HELP lol

Do you have the scope mounted on a rifle? If so, where does the bullet go in conjunction with the clicks?

OK, the bullet goes opposite, or the reticle does? I thought you said the reticle "moved" the opposite direction. Maybe I misunderstood.

The bullet moves opposite and crosshairs move opposite. If I want the bullet to move left I have to rotate adjustment to right . And if I move hairs left which makes hairs move right the bullet will hit right.

OK, well it's a set it and forget it type scope, so if it holds zero, do you want to keep it, or get something else? It's not like your going to be spinning the turrets and dialing your shots in, right?
What Sako do you own?

Stop thinking about what the crosshairs are doing. Don't look at them. You are simply "moving" the Bullet Hole. Then when it's centered, I click the scope elevation UP 2.5-3 inches for 100 yards. Now I'm grouping 3 inches high at 100. When I click those adjustments, I have no idea what those crosshairs are doing, or what direction they're going in....I just know it works.

It is possible - though very difficult, to make adjustments as outlined above (move point of aim to match point of impact.) it can be done, but the rifle must be absolutely immobilized for the shot and the adjustment. It is far, far simpler to do as SoE says and fire a group, measure the distance of the center of the group to the target center, then make that adjustment on the scope. Your scope is in MOA adjustments so 4 clicks per inch of movement. Measure the vertical and horizontal distance for center mass and correct accordingly. |

And, as said, stop looking at the crosshairs during adjustment or worrying about how they move. If you make corrections and they don't go as anticipated, start troubleshooting. You are, right now, trying to fix a problem that does not exist. |

Maybe this will help....
Hold your arm out fully extended and thumb pointing up. Either will work, whatever your dominant arm and eye is would be best. Place a 'target' on the tip of your thumb. Now imagine your thumb tip to be the crosshair, and your arm to be the barrel. If you want your point of impact to move to the right, which way do you have to tip your 'thumb crosshair' to make your 'arm barrel' go right? The tip of your 'thumb crosshair' will HAVE to go left to force the 'arm barrel' right, and vice versa. Same goes for elevation. It would be impossible for the scope to be broken in such a manner that things would go opposite what they should. I really can't see a manufacturing mistake either, as they are all made from the same process; the turrets really couldn't be printed wrong, unless they were replaced at some point with aftermarket or homemade units. Just zero it and forget it. I get told, quite often, I'm thinking about it too hard; I think you may be too. Matt

I had one pulled yesterday. Not sure why it hurts more now than when I was a kid. Mom pulled a couple of my loose baby teeth out with pliers and went on my way, but I felt bad yesterday and a little this AM. God speed.
