I am going to guess that you are talking about a rifle/scope.  If so, then yes.  I always bring two rifles with me when I go hunting in case I have a problem with one.

Iron sights.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I don't like having spare scopes laying around that aren't put into service on rifles, and QD mounts aren't really my thing. I'd rather just carry another complete scoped rifle with me on hunts.

Yes.
Yes.
And yes.

When hunting, I have a backup rifle.
I also keep a backup scope in a range bag if the shooting might be important and/or  prolonged.
And my ARs usually wear backup irons, if possible.

I also have a Kahr PM40 in an ankle holster for when stuff might get really freaky.

Backup, do you mean carrying a second arrow?

Yeah, I carry a second scope.  It's on top of a second rifle, in the second sleeve of the gun case on the single Gator.

Backup rifle ready to go since a horse wreck in the 90s broke a Kevlar stock at the wrist and bent a barrel.  The 2.5-8 x Vari X III is still going strong and I have an NP3 plated Remington 700 action I can build something with one of these days.

Backup scope?!? Wish I would have known before I asked the wife if I could have a backup; she said she was the only woman I was allowed. (Thought I was reading in the Ed Show.)
