Why not just send it to Zeiss for repair?

I have to agree...you scopes is offered with a lifetime warranty. I would suggest contacting Zeiss and explain the issue to them and send it in for repair.

Just a guess, but he may be wanting a replacement for this season.... Maybe...
Something similar would encompass the 3-15X SS. |

Meopta makes a 1"tube in that exact configuration. That would be where I'd start.

Where are you from? In the US and Canada the Zeiss warranty is a "Limited Lifetime Transferable Warranty." If you bought it new, read your paperwork. The transferable part goes to the next owner. Europe is 10 years. That will cover fogging 100%, you should only be out your mailing cost to them. Don't settle for anything less. Let us know what they tell you after your next call to them. Good luck. |

I'm with ND Hunter. That scope should be warrantied against such things.
I had a Conquest go TU on a .300 WM and Zeiss cheerfully replaced it within a few weeks. Maybe less.

I called Zeiss on wed. they said my scope will be to my door the first week of February. I did ask them about the warranty and since the scope is a few years old and their lowest end product, they will have to charge for the repair. That's ok I like the scope once it's repaired it will be almost like new.
In the mean time I need a back up any suggestions? |

This is still very odd to me, given this is a Conquest with lifetime transferrable warranty. |

It is what it is I guess, what can I say. Anyway, I was thinking something in the vortex line as a backup?

Charging you for that repair is out of line with industry standards. I've had to warranty 3 scopes, a Vortex, a Leupold, and a Minox. I was not charged for a single one of the repairs. Leupold is the only one that charged me shipping.

It is fairly old, if I recall I purchased it when they were going for $300 some years back. I don't want to argue with customer service or anyone here I just want it fixed. It has been a good scope just that the last couple times I have used it it fogged up instantly internally getting in and out of my truck.
That is what two different people have told me in customer service "it is old and the lowest end model" so be it. Back to what I asked something in the vortex line? |
