Hey all I got a Savage 110 30.06 and looking to scope it w/ something else then what came w/ it (some cheezy old Simmons 3-9x/40.)
Looking at 3 so far all 3-9x/40 Leupold VX-1 Nikon Buckmaster Fulfield II Would like the Leupold VX-II (or VX-III) which I love and is on my .243 but is just out of my price range at the moment. I would also like to mention when I upgrade to a VX-II or VX-III later this one will go on my son's .270 So which do U recommend and why ??? THX |

Welcome to The OT!!
I'd skip the Loopie VXI, and get the FFII or Buckmaster. Personally, I like the Buckmaster. Do you have reticle preferrence? |

Let's not forget the Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40. I think that it is easily as good as the Burris FFll at the same price. The Rainguards works as advertised. I think they are giving away some sort of gear bag at purchase. Very nice scope for the $$$.

Unless you need Rainguard, Elite 3200 is a bit behind FFII in terms of optical quality. ILya |

Thx again guys
As far as reticle preference I only have the VX-II Long Range Duplex and love that scope (besides the Simmons which I will never use besides maybe on a .22) After reading more definitly getting the VX-III w/ either the LR or Boone & Crocket Duplex (down the road) just wish I had the money now. Might just take the VX-II off the .243 after deer season and throw it on the 30.06 for elk lol and save up. Also curious if the threading on the ends of scopes is standerized ?? ex. will the intensifiers from Leupold fit on other scopes. |
