Wow, gas this one ever gone off the rails. I think if those new to the forum read other threads, you will see that most here try to be as helpful as possible.

In re-re-rereading the initial post, it still reads like someone about to air dirty Nightforce laundry. And, though subsequent posts have been complimentary, the first still strikes a decidedly negative note, and it is that note a few addressed.

For clarity: Gravitation is a theory, that something is theory does not negate it's value .

Freedom is something you take.
Respect is something you earn.
Equality is something you whine about not being given.

But if you want to use rings on an AR.  Try something like this.  http://swfa.com/IOR-AR15-Flat-Top-Mount-P10813.aspx or http://swfa.com/IOR-AR15-Flat-Top-Mount-P10814.aspx
I used both of those a few years back and they both worked well.

Otherwise as Rancid said, set them aside for another rifle and buy a Bobro or AD recon mount.  I have both and they both work very
Top pic IOR high mount with IOR low rings.  2nd pic, IOR low mount medium Burris rings.  3rd bobro slightly forward.  Bottom pic Bobro extended mount.

VERY NICE! I was just about to place an order for that IOR riser when night force contacted me and made it unnecessary.

Good for you. And hopefully you will be able to mount the scope far enough forward to get proper eye relief with just the rings. There is a reason that AR mounts are cantilevered forward. Look at the photos that Supertool posted and see how far forward they are mounted.

That is a very valid point. Nightforce may make good scopes but that does not mean that there customer service is as good as there product!

3/5 of the earth is blue, the other 1/5 is white and the remaining is a dust cloud sometimes green. so much for Gods green earth.

If Rep did a lot of shooting he wouldn't be asking this question. Nightforce wouldn't have the reputation they have without good service. How one equates one to the other doesn't wash. In the scope world good scope = good service especially in this price range. Ok you can compare apples and oranges, each one weighs at least 95% of the  other, contains at least 95% of the same sugars and the other and they both come from God's green earth.

REP, too bad about your troubles.  My simple suggestion would be to go up the ladder at NF via phone calls until you get to the right person.  Like everywhere, some people are more helpful than others and usually it's a matter of just getting to someone in the mood to help.  If you have a legitimate problem I'm sure it will be fixed to your satisfaction.

Unlocked the topic, since someone felt slighted to not get in the last stream of piss on this pointless waste of bandwidth, so in the interest of fairness, piss away.....

I thought the Good Wife was a TV fantasy show. Unlike things that don't exist in the real world.
Folks ain't got a sense of humor no more. They don't laugh they just get sore.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.
