Mount a pic rail (Weig-a-tinney)on the Ruger (scalloped cut-out base) then pick out a good set of rings. I kind of like TPS myself.

1" or 30mm tube? Either way, IMO/E it won't be any problem at all to fit a 56mm objective scope on with Ruger's rings. It'll probably take High rings, but the lowest 30mm rings Ruger offers are almost too high for my 50mm objective scope.

You can also just use Leupold rings, I mounted a Schmidt and Bender 2.5 - 10 x 56 on my Ruger with the Leupold Super high ringmounts, they are 1.13 inches high and work great.
