Looking at a rough Kahles Super Helia fixed 6X 6 L2. #1 reticle Serial # 58121. Scratches on lenses, what's this worth? How old is it and does that matter? Have read of Kahles legendary durability. Tks ahead, Clinton.

It could be 40-50 years old. Scratches on lenses. Someone will pay too much for it. I would pass it up.

Also, I have two rifles that will soon need scopes. I'm bargain shopping online for rugged optics. How can I determine the age of these scopes and how relevant is that? What to look for so I don't get burned. Any links to articles discussions or tips are much appreciated tks.
Some of these optics makers have some whiskers on them (Kahles). Any timelines of their product lines would help if they exist.
