Hello, I am new to the site and looking for a little advice. I have been researching Rifle scopes and really I am confused. There are just too many choices, so I thought I would just join this site and ask the experts. I'm looking for a new scope for my wife. She shoots a Ruger compact SS .260 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9X40 on it now. She is having trouble staying focused when she is getting ready to shoot, she says it just gets real fuzzy exspecially in low light. We Hunt Whitetails from box stands. I am looking to spend around 1000$ to upgrade her scope. Maybe more or maybe less, I just want to get her something of good quality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
So what I'm looking for would be something with great low light perfromance, maybe more magnification, nothing fancy, Duplex retical, don't need any special balistic retical or nothing like that. Simple but Quality
Thanks agian for any advice given.

Welcome to Optics Talk.

You gave a good summary of what your looking for, but how far would you guesstimate your "typical" shot would be, yardage wise, from your stand?
If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Trijicon accupoint 3-9x would be a good choice.

Leupold VX-R, VX3, VX6

A Meopta Meopro or Meostar

Swarovski Z3 3-9x or 3-10x.

Haven't heard much about the vx-3L
Are they worth looking at?
Or is it mostly just marketing and not really an advantage?

It does what it says. I lets you mount a larger objective scope very low.

I suggest you go look on the samplelist.  There are 3 Schmidt and Bender 2.5-10 scopes available at an excellent price only slightly above your $1000.00, a Leica 2.5-10 for 1100.00,  and there is a Kahles 3-12x56 Helia C for 1100.00.  All of those have excellent glass and features and are better than the 3-9 mag range.  I would probably go with the Kahles, but I am a BIG Kahles fan.

If you have some time, watch the samplelist.  I've purchased a number of scopes there and never been disappointed.  I'm a cheapskate, but I like good stuff... samplelist is a real force multiplier.
