SD:

What model of Bushmaster M4 are you going to get?

14.5" or 16" barrel.

Good deal!!!!

I know more people that are buying AR's now.

A gunstore that I frequent used to sell a couple of uppers and some various AR parts.

NOW.....You can't walk through the door of that place without tripping over a EVIL, BLACK rifle....

Black rifle power!!!!!

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Probably 16", either way I'm gonna end up with 16" of steel out in front to be legal. With a Bushy, 16" bbl & birdcage flash hider = ~17 1/4"

That's the only way I can describe the taste of beer to me, I hate it.

Chris's taste in wine should be close: Mad Dog 20/20 . The last time I can remember drinking Mad Dog, I was a teenager, it was 1:00AM & there was very little money between all of us. Man, that's a hard way to catch a buzz!

SD:

Your right.

A 14.5" barrel with a 1.5" FS would be LEGAL.

I deplore these ridiculous gun laws....

Plese post pics and give a review when you get it.

I have very limited knowledge in the field of knives and I've enjoyed "Googling" the different brands and models that people are using.

I added Shotgun to my list in hopes that others would too because its another field I lack knowledge in.  I know what shotguns I don't like more than I know what shotguns I like....if that makes sense.

I'm a Beretta man all the way for shotguns. When I first started busting birds I thought I would get a Remington until I spoke with some really experienced shooters. They turned me onto the Beretta 391 (Gold Sporting) and then I graduated to a 682 Gold E Skeet. The 391 is one of the softest shooting 12ga. guns I have ever shot. I see 10 of these for every Remington at local shoots. The guy who taught me how to shoot skeet owns several Kriegoff's and Perrazzi's(s) and shoots the 391 in competition.

Roy:

Boy, taking a Beretta over a Krieghoff is quite a statement!!

Not familiar with the Perrazzi's.

I too love Beretta shotguns. I prefer them to the few Benelli's I have shot.

Not that I think the Beretta is a superior weapon to the Bennelli, but the Beretta's just seem to fit me better.

I don't profess to be a shotgun wizard, but I did get they opportunity to shoot quite a few shotguns before I went with the Beretta 391. It just felt better between the hands and pointed well for me in low gun skeet shooting and sporting clays. The Kriegoff K-80's and Perazzi's are works of art. The K-80 is a softer shooting O/U than the Perazzi's I shot. I am not trying to start a shotgun debate here cause I don't know enough about them and really don't get that lathered up about them either. The 682 Gold E is all the gun I will ever need. I got mine at the Beretta Gallery in NYC. It doesn't have the typical "park bench" grade wood that is common on Beretta's. Do you know what Beretta's "X-tra wood" upgrade actually is? A photo laminate I kid you not.

The Remington 870 pump shotgun takes the prize for reliability and longevity, in my opinion.  I used my 20 gauge  to shoot lots of 25 straights at skeet, and qualify for an NRA "Distinguished Expert" badge.  When I checked with Remington about wear at 60,000 rounds, they essentially said these shotguns don't wear out!!  I've replaced two firing pins and ejectors over that period.

Shooting a pump shotgun is like driving a gearshift car.  Once you learn how, it's fun, and working the action becomes almost automatic.

We keep our shotguns meticulously cleaned and lubed.

Over-unders are beautiful, and I love their handling qualities.  However, we've seen lots of different brands develop trigger troubles.  (One example:  The Belgian-made Browning Lightning 20-gauge over-under that I bought new and expected to be my pet shotgun for life!!!!   After giving Browning a couple of chances to fix it, I sold it.)  Berettas don't seem have this problem, so far as I know.

Automatics have historically failed the reliability test.  (Examples:  Remington model 1100, and Winchester's original Super-X).  The newest versions seem much improved, though.  Some of our guides swear by the Benelli automatics.

Shooting a straight with a pump is no small task as far as I am concerned. Of the guys I shoot with only one uses a 870 and he is a hellava good shooter. He uses a 20ga. as well. The 870 is the work horse shotgun. I know that the 870 is used quite a bit in Argentina with the very high volume dove shooting they do. Surprisingly so is the Beretta 391, various Beretta O/U's, Kriegoff K-80's to name a few. I was surprised at the 391 being used for this type of shooting. They use cheap, dirty ammo down there and shoot rediculous amounts of ammo a day. One of my shooting buddies put a little more than 5000 rounds through a brand new 391 before it started to malfunction. I was surprised to say the least as we were shooting Federal Top Gun(garbage) through them. I don't reccomed this to anyone who likes their gun.
