Oh, man... good find!!!! 4 years ago, I begged them to make just that, and they told me they had no plans of making an aluminum 22/45 frame replacement, saying they had their own design instead.
I might have to get one! |

One would think that at that price they would have improved the safety. The little button safety has always seemed less than desirable to me. Im not sure that it makes sense to me to pay $420 for the frame alone but what can I say if there is a market for it good for them.

That would change my mind on purchasing a 22/45. BTW the Volquartsen trigger in my MKIII is excellent.

According to the listing, that price isn't just for the frame alone. It includes all of Volquartsen's replacement innards as well -- target trigger, hammer, sear, titanium disconnector, etc. I have all those parts in my 22/45, and if you order those parts separately, the retail price comes to about $150 - $175. Since this frame was obviously just recently introduced (Volquartsen doesn't even list it on their website yet), I'm sure if past history is any indication, they will eventually offer the stripped down frame as an option, as well as in other colors besides black. It's anyone's guess what the price will be, but VQ stuff ain't cheap. It's pretty expensive to CNC machine that frame from billet. |

They have stainless and black on midway's site. I'm planning on ordering it once they become available. Then pair it with a nice upper unit and I hope to have a super accurate reliable pistol.

I know you probably know this already, but just in case... the "stainless" version is silver anodized aluminum, not actually stainless steel. As for a "nice upper," how about this? https://www.volquartsen.com/products/754-llv-competition-pistol-upper |
