Hello to all, thank you for the forum which really has a lot of info on scopes, really came in handy

I was wondering if it is possible to buy a SWFA scope from outside US. I have been told that is impossible to export a scope, but i have also read that you could export if you ask an export permit or the like. I really like these scopes in particular, because they have everthing i would like (mil mil and focus from 10m) as an airgun shooter and also their price looks good. Scopes are really expensive in my country, so i usually end up with chinese scopes. For example a Hawke sidewinder 4-16x50 would cost 1500 dls, used.

any thoughts?

As far as SWFA goes I think you're out of luck. They won't sell you one. Sorry. I'm pretty sure the do NO out of country sales.

thanks for the reply, after i posted i found the explanation of why they dont export. but still im a bit curious. If i buy a scope in person in the US (have friends that go there a lot), it would be illegal to take it out the country? SWFA says that scopes being in contracts with the US are prohibited, but scopes that are not in contracts? i have also read some of the info on exporting things from US, scopes seem to need an export license to my country, how would a person do to gain such a license? (maybe only shops or exporters have the oportunity).

The SS scopes do have NSN's, they are being used by our military
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Ahhh i didn´t know that! thanks for the info. Its a pity i can´t buy scopes in the US, there is a lot from where to choose, and different qualities too. Here you have to choose between chinese or expensive european scopes...

thanks to all

Im in Argentina, South America. Here it is legal to import optics, as a matter of fact i have recently imported one from China, for a spring air rifle. I recently started to participate in Hunter Field Target events and wanted to upgrade to a better scope. SWFA 10x with side focus seemed a really good option i heard similar scopes where used in UK for HFT.

That is correct.

We cannot export, nor will we assist in exporting.

SWFA, only conducts business within the US.
