This is the MOA reticle version (my preference in a scope... just me, nothing against Mil/Mil scopes).
Design: Excellent, but "eye box" is more critical than I would like for such an expensive scope, expecially at higher magnifications. Just a nit, but this is a pricey scope. Eye box should be better. The scope is, overall, compact and well put together. Nice packaging. Turrets: Clicks audible/tactile. Zero stop/set is excellent. 100MOA both windage and elevation (nearly exactly, based upon mechanical zero calibration). Elevation is 25MOA/per turn. Reminds me of EREK turret on USOptics. Tracking: Based upon charts and rulers, the scope adjustments are as true as my eye can tell at 100 yards. This is a precision instrument. Glass (overall quality): Excellent. It is on a par with the finest, top of the line scopes. CA is virtually non-existant, edge to edge is clean, clarity is superior. Reticle: FMA-1. MOA reticle with MOA adjustments... I love it. At 3x, the reticle is a little small, but with the illumination "ON", there are no problems for me. Low light operation: At 12-15x, low light operation is exceptional... above that there is noticeable "dimming". The small objective is a "negative", in my book. I've used some of the Air Force "eye charts" and one can certainly exceed legal hunting hours with this scope. It is NOT the "astronomical quality" of my Hensoldt 6-24x72. Understandable, but a little disappointing for me in low light conditions above 15x. Electronics: The illuminated reticle is outstanding. Though I am a big fan of "tuneable" control, the 4-position light settings are superb. Generally, this March Tactical scope is of extreme quality and I can't really find anything "wrong" with it. It has some features I truly love and wish were available on my Hensoldt. It has some disappointments, most significantly the eyebox and low light performance. On my 7mmSTW, it helps create a truly superior shooting instrument that any fine/long range rifleman will appreciate and enjoy. Truthfully, I've thought a couple of times about exchanging this scope for a USOptics or a 4-16 or 3-12Hensoldt. I've changed my mind. The 7mmSTW is an extreme long range gun and the 3-24March allows me to take advantage (easy advantage) of all the "legs" the gun has. It has a permanent home and I am glad to have it. It is not perfect, but even the Hensoldt is not perfect (2nd FP and mil reticle/1CMper100meter adjustments, no "zero reset"). The March is well designed, well constructed, easy to "get behind" and easy to use. A lot to love... Though my wife did not purchase this scope for me, she did tell me to "get whatever you want". The more I use it, the more I want it. Very fortunate to have this optical masterpiece at my disposal... |

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Billy, that sounds ike a great idea. Next time I get to "visit" Az, I will ship it to myself at your address. Then we can both get some hands on with it at long range. PM me your address. You will absolutely love the Laredo, and with that scope on it, it is really something.

Killing trees and now hummingbirds, what's next?
That is interesting to see that on your gun. Is that a sporter weight barrel, KB? That set up looks very stout and I was wondering how the whole package handles. I assume this is for hunting. So is it for sitting, stalking or both? Edited by tahqua - October/06/2013 at 13:29 |

The Laredo uses a heavy target barrel, 26 inch. I used this rifle for my Axis hunt years back. It is a stalker... use a "front carry" tactical sling. But, of course, it is useable for any situation. I've killed a few deer with it, and shot a turkey with it right after I got it. 1/2MOA with factory loads, about .284 with custom ammo.

Thank you for reminding me that I needed to check zero on my 300WM... cold bore shot. It started raining right after that shot or I would have shot the other eye...

My wife just saw the "kitten target"...
She said "the hummingbird was OK.. that was just a drawing, but that's a picture of a REAL kitten... you are so BAD..." Now I'm in trouble...
