I am literally beating myself up over this scope decision. Browning A-Bolt Stalker 270win. I need something for both hunting in the woods and across fields. Samplelist options are welcomed. Just cannot for the life of me make a decision.

For hunting the Carolina brier patches and power line clearings, I'd look at the Leupold VX-R 3-9x, my friend.

Some scopes I found. I know the first one, the duralyt is out of the $500 range, but is it that much better? I will consider it. http://www.samplelist.com/Zeiss-3-12x50-Conquest-Duralyt-Rifle-Scope-DEMO-B-P62106.aspxhttp://www.samplelist.com/SWFA-SS-3-9x42-Rifle-Scope-DEMO-A-P64999.aspx |

If you are hunting in low light I would seriously consider that Duralyt. The Nikon has pretty good glass, but the BDC is not real good in low light. Especially if there is background cover.
The Meopta #4 is a good low light reticle but I have only checked them out in the upper end Meostar.

I'm really liking the Mark AR, basically the 1" version of the VX-R.

Meopta MeoPro 4-12x50 with a #4 if you want a great low light scope and don't want to dial or have a BDC reticle..
i.e., run a 250 yard zero and you are good to go out to 300 dead hold... |

Probably 400 yards max. Trying to get a price match on the meopro 4-12. Really liking that Firedot4 though on the Leupold.

CC, I referred the OP to your review on the Leupold Patrol model, as well. I think the Leupold with the Fire Dot will meet and hopefully exceed his expectations.
