Sad
Yeah, well, I haven't had much luck with CZ's.  I've purchased two... neither worked...CZ700 is still being repaired.
Whats wrong with the 700?  (you should have let me win it Wink)

So what issues did you have and I take it CZ did not take care of you?

only about 50 CZ700s were importe to US.  CZ-USA has no information on them... useless.  Their recommendation was... "find a good gunsmith".  I did... It should be ready to shoot when I get home.

Just found this thread... Hijacking for a moment.

About the CZ's

What issues are you having?

Head Space? Bolt?  Receiver to barrel?

Triggers?

I have heard of this but have purchased a fe wof them in my time with no issues but I usually buy new.

The used guns I have picked up always have issues it seems like people tinker and get them out of spec and then dump them.

The CZ 750 and 700's I have had from 147-175gr have been able to obtain accuracy and precision that you would love, 1/2 is easily achieved.

1 quickie is where is the stamp of caliber on the barrel is it right like a dollar bill or less than 1/16th above the Stock?

head space is correct, checked and rechecked.

trigger was hacked up,it had a shim that bound everything up, someone filed the sear and a few other parts and add the shim to make it work, it would dry fire if you walked by it to fast or shut the bolt to fast.

The safety block was filed at some point and wouldn't hold bolt back ,  but you could close the bolt in the off-safe and it would work fine until you went to on-safe-- then --not so much-- when going back to off-safe ---BOOM

extractor was not correct was in a major bind was to wide for opening of bolt and to short to catch the spring. Had to make one to fit and actually work

ejector didn't have the correct spring in it. it was  to long and wouldn't let the plunger sink into the bolt face. it had no movement. I had to make a spring/plunger and open the plunger/spring hole in bolt so it could work freely.

Its tons better now. I'm looking for a few parts and if I can't find them I'll make them.

The big question is ... "will I ever get it back???"  I used to have a 50BMG, but I have not seen it in YEARS...

It was for the hack whoever butchered the reputation and quality exactness fit and performance of the Stock Cz before you were able to fix it.

I have picked up 3 things in the past 3 years that I was getting as replacements of much more expensive rifles 2 of the 3 had trigger issues the other had some nut job not tighten /seat the barrel upon a thread job correctly.  It was an issue that was easily remedied but was easily avoidable.

I think it comes down to not understanding what dose what. I get Remington in the shop all the time with trigger issues. They always say a friend said he could adjust it. well, he can't.... but he can turn screws.. so I show them how it works internally so they under stand it better. The CZ is a unite all to itself.

Comparatively,  I would take the CZ over the rem 700 any day.Peeker  And do I have replaced all 700's and 70's with them...

I do believe they do things simple and right once.  I think the quality and technology used from barrel making to action is a little higher.

Lots of rounds lots of accuracy crisp trigger and SST.

Smooth Action, good lock up.

Once played with they are never the same very few improvements less trigger.
