Are these spotting scopes any good? They do not seem to be mainstream products that anybody stocks them for immediate shipment.

My uses are:

1. Digital photography (with Nikon D100)

2. Range use (700 yards)

Thanks, Charlie.

Nikon Fieldscope ED scopes are among the best in the world and are as good as any German or Austrian manufactured scopes. The Prostaff scopes are not in the same class. As far as use, if you want digital photography, get the ED.

The range use (700 yards) is for what? You will not see bullet holes at 700 yards, if that's what you are thinking about.

If you can't find an ED scope, you are looking at the wrong place. They are everywhere.

The Prostaff models are not set to debut until the end of next month/beginning of July which is why you are not seeing them in stock anywhere. They are set to replace the Nikon Earth and Sky series and should be very good scopes for their inexpensive price.

As Anweis stated though, I doubt they will be in the same class as Nikon's ED glass offerings.
