Ok, a little unusual question for the board.  thanks for the help in advance.

Just bought a remington 700ML .50cal and looking for a scope, here are the particulars:

1.  Will be shooting this at targets only, 25, 50 and 100 yards, "critter" targets, both bench and offhand
2.  variable power would be nice, recommendations on reticle
3.  Don't want to spend more on the scope than the gun, $200.

Load will be a 300 gr+/- Barnes w/sabot and about 90-100 gr of 2Fg, recoil medium.

Weaver, Nikon, Vortex, Bushnell....?

Thanks again.

Don't want to recommend a scope but will powder. Blackhorn 209 is the only thing to use period.

ha, ha, ha.................you must have never shot swiss powder, it beats all others hands down.  All the target shooters, cartridge shooters, and most of the match records are being shattered using swiss.

well jime444 check out modernmuzzleloading or dougsmessageboards and look at the inline sections you won't see swiss mentioned once. You will also see the 700 ml only mentioned occasionally. Also something I didn't know till I went on those sites is that .45 seems to be more popular than .50. These guys are in most cases are using new barrels on most of their rifles and like this site they are multi rifle owners. I may have wrong info on swiss but i doubt it.
