Acknowledging that there are countless variables to sort out. A general answer for brand name you would start with Colt, Rock Rver, DPMS, Olympic Arms, Stag Arms and Bushmaster. I lead off with Colt because it has proven more often than not to handle steel case ammo as well as any make out there. If your only gonna shoot good brass ammo most any AR will do well. I put the Bushmaster last cause in my experience one steel case round and your done but, otherwise its top notch for accuracy and dependability. Then you look at the A2 for open sights and the A3 for scoped options. Then barrel length. 16" to 18" is great for light carry and good accuracy out to 300yds. They'll shoot well out to 500yds but few people set them up for that. For longer distance and "slightly" better accuracy you would consider the 20" and 24" barrels. I could go on and on with the variables but this gives you something to start with. The more we know about what your goals are the better, more specific we can be with advice.I won't say to stay away from any particular make execpt to be cauious about some of the newer stuff comming out until its been out long enough for some reviews. Personally I avoid those that are not interchangable like the S&W's and Sig's and a few others I can't think of right now. If you stay with those in the list above you'll be pretty safe.
Good luck!!

I have a Frankenstein ar it has a bushmaster lower and upper and bolt and carrier and a delton barrel. I habe shot well over 5000 rounds of wolf out of it plus another 10000 or so of brass and it has been great. So my experience with bushmaster has been very satisfactory.
There are so many brands out there now and most of them are pretty good quality. Del-ton, spikes tactical noveskie, smith and wesson, sig, Daniel defence, lmt, lwrc, mega, seekins, etc etc. |

Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.
