Hello -

I am considering US Optics 1.8-10x44 for AR build.  This is my "sniper" AR with 20" Krieger 1.7-7 twist barrel.  Really just punching paper out to 500-600 yards.

Given I have never seen this scope or its competition I am looking for advice on this scope or something else around this price point.

Thanks!

Just my thoughts, but based upon your stated requirements, an EXCELLENT choice.  Not sure what you would beat it with...

Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.

If you would be open to a 3x on the bottom end another good choice would be the Kahles 3-12. Also if you look in the review section there is a review on it as well.

The only scope I would dare compare to that, is maybe the new 1-8 that USO is introducing. USO has an outstanding reputation for robust build quality, but they are heavy...
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

If punching paper only, I would consider a decent 3-12 or so, especially in USO's price range.

It is a good scope, but the real value of a US Optics is in its complete customization, and it doesn't sound like you need that.

I would question why you need a bottom end of 1.8X on a range gun?

That said, I have owned several USO scopes, they make a nice scope, no question.

I'd either go to the 3-12, such as the Kahles, or consider something like the Premier 3-15 LT. Otherwise, the new USO 1-8 would be more appealing.
Reaction time is a factor...

Thanks for all the feedback.  To answer "I would question why you need a bottom end of 1.8X on a range gun?" I guess I like the idea of a wide FOV at low magnification and I rarely crank up my 4-16 past 8-12 ish.

I had some troubles finding reviews on the Kahles, my google fu is weak...  Any links?

Thanks again

When I used a MK 12 I had a USO (MR10) on it then a Leupold (3.5-10) and ended up with a NF 3.5-1, as I got older my eyes needed the magnification!

Just get what you are most comfortable with.

I was going to ask why the listings for the USO scopes lack 'specs'; such as FOV, and that at least the SWFA listings do not show show the scope in question. But RancidCoolaid says they are custom jobs, so that answers that (shows what i know).

I think the 1.8 low setting is a good idea. Who knows, you may want to follow an anti-social coyote into the brush sometime,
