Just bought a savage axis .308, need help with the type of scope I should buy I'm looking for 3x9 rifle scope? Not really trying to spend to much on it, just something that will get the job done, target shooting at the range and possibly some hunting.

Looking for a 3x9 rifle scope

Price Range:
$100-$200


The Purpose:
- Hunting deer
- Target shooting at the range -- minimum of 50 yards (what is a good magnification so my view isn't small?)

well... you don't get much for less than $200... IMO

Tip- the Sightron rebate requires purchase by January 31 (even though the link you posted is to a coupon for purchases only through December 31, 2012.  You can see the revised coupon at http://info.sightron.com/2012-Revised-Rebate.pdf

Maybe Sightron will change again, but it doesn't seem like it will.
