I have one of the early SS 1-4X scopes that I bought right after they were introduced.  It kills the battery while in the off position and has so as long as I've owned it.  Has anyone else had their problem with the scope?  It pretty much makes the illumination feature useless.

I've tried contacting SWFA several times but still no response.  Hoping that posting about my problem here will get their attention.

Have u tried to call them? Or just emailed them?

If you'll pick up the phone and call them, 1-972-SCOPE-IT, they will take care of you.  Bad juju to come to SWFA's forum and say they ain't responded with an issue with their scope if you haven't tried all avenues of contacting them.  Emails can get sent to spam or lost in cyber space.   Phone up CFII or Skylar or Dylan, all will get you squared away.

First, yes, call SWFA and see what they can do.

Next, yes, my 1-4X eats batteries too.  I usually keep my battery in the spare battery compartment and put it in the battery compartment when needed.  It isn't ideal, but it works.

I really like the stops between illumination intensities, but have also noted that battery life, even at the stop and not in the "on" position, is very limited.

It is an awesome scope and this is a minor gripe.

Sorry, I made the assumption that email was an acceptable manner for communication as I too work and its hard to get to a phone during their business hours.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try and get them on the phone at some point.

E-mail generally works fine for SWFA, but right now every company in the firearms-related world has been so swamped that even with the best ones all bets are off.
