If its for hunting a fixed or veri power will work well, just keep the power range around between 1.5 and 5. I would only consider a high power if you were doing a lot of target shooting off a supported position, like a bench.

This is mine, Equiped with a good ol Leupold 2X M8. They were out of matte when I ordered it and I was going on a hunt and needed it. So its stainless steel, The ground hogs and deer dont know the difference.Big%20Grin

The 2x M8 is an excellent choice for the .50. I use one on a 7 1/2" barreled .44 and it covers all the conditions I use it in. In low light it's not great but none of the long eye relief scopes I have, or use, are.

I have found no other pistol scope with as much eye relief as the Leupold M8 2X. I got long arms and need all the eye relief I can get.Big%20Smile
