I am looking to upgrade the scope i have on my 308 bolt action rifle this gun is mostly used for target shooting and hunting from 100 to 500 yards looking to stay around $350 and would last forever some of the features that i would like
variable power 4-12 would be good
mill dots
target turrets would be nice but not a deal breaker
i am mostly looking for a good value

i have been looking at
Nikon Prostaff Rifle Scope 4-12x 40mm Mil-Dot Reticle Matte $219

Nikon 2.5-10x42 Monarch Riflescope $299

Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Rifle scope $359

Primary arms 4-16x14 illuminated mil dot scope $160

any help would be appreciated

The Nikon 2.5-10x42 Monarch would be nice as well as the Vortex Diamondback. I would skip the Falcon.

Or if you could go to $390 this would be a great scope.

I would strongly consider adding $50 to your price range and looking at this:

or this:

I'll second this recommendation.  Not mildot but a very good scope.  It had capped target turrets and when I used this same scope i just left the caps in the box with the rest of the stuff, never had an issue with it. Very good glass and repeatable.
