my friend gave me an optic off of a great pair of binoculars which he thought was actually a scope. after looking at it for a while I realized that this would make quite a scope. sounds kind of unprofessional but I was wondering if it was possible to convert this to a scope. I was hoping(if it worked) to put it on a mosin nagant.

Not sure what you are talking about but I am assuming you have just 1 side of a binocular or a monocular. The answer is with enough money about anything is possible but the practical answer to your question is no. The internals in a scope are totally different than a monocular or binocular. They both magnify and that's about it.

You would not have any way to adjust for windage and elevation with what you have. So without those you could not zero your rifle. And yes they do make mounts for both windage and elevation, but they are really expensive.

If you tell us what you are trying to accomplish we could suggest a scope that would do the job.
