I have a savage 110 BA in 338 lapua. I can't decide what scope to put on it. I am considering a night force 5.5x22x56. I can't decide if I should get a FTP or SFP reticle. My budget is 2000. I have no experience with tactical scopes and whatever I get I will have to live with for a very very long time. Any advice is appreciated.

Looking at scopes in that price range, try the SS5-20. It is the best value in the price range you are considering.

These two here will be the best "bang for your buck" Glass will exceed anything you'll find under 2K and even up.
Another contender that I'll mention to give you "options" is this one, it seems to get good praise too -

Go for a few more $ and get the used Zeiss Heinsoldt on the SWFA sample list.

If you could up your budget just over $400 I would go with a Kahles. This is very likely going to be my next scope.

I went with the 5.5-22x50, and MOAR reticle, as it had all the features I wanted, with a great reticle, but I wanted a zerostop on this one, so I went the NF route. I have no doubt the SS5-20 would be great. If they were in MOA adjustments, I may have gone that way.
