3-9x40 is my selection Redfield lifetime warranty good reviews....reasonable price and generous eye relief. Nikon reputation, good reviews, 3.6 eye relief. reasonable price. Price is an issue, love to get something higher end,but just isnt gonna happen |

There's a $30 rebate on Redfield Revolution or Revenge scopes purchased through 12/31/12:
That should make the Redfield less expensive. I just bought the Revolution 2x7x33 with the Accu Range reticle today. A great scope.

If your dead set on one of those 2, I'd take the Nikon.

I have owned them both. The Nikon Buckmaster is just hands down superior to the Redfield on every level.

I ran a 3.5-10x40AO Leupold on a ltwt .300 magnum for the better part of 25yrs. I've always looked at that magnification range as being optimum for all-around use.
This scope is $199.95 after the rebate and is of much higher quality than the other two your considering. Not that there's anything wrong with them at all.

300 S&W beat me to it! I would also browse SWFA's samples list.

I don't have the experience others on here have.
If I had to choose - in the little experience I have had so far. I would not choose nikon - rotten warranty/CS - bulky/heavy - dated features... |
