I remember the original article and how it stopped me dead in my tracks and left my jaw hanging open the way only an unusually beautiful woman generally does.
I believe the kids today would call that gun "Fap Worthy". |

It is a "collector's piece"... what good it is, I don't know. HOWEVER, it IS beautiful. The wood, the artwork... AMAZING. Why anyone would want that on a rifle, I'll never understand. I can't own a rifle I can't bring myself to shoot. I had a custom 30-06 built... Most beautiful hunting rifle I have ever held... Wood was amazing, it had a special "patina" to the bluing, receiver etchings of hunting scenes... just amazing. I traded it to a builder for my fireplace in my house because I could not bear to take it to the woods... I fired it 3 times, my gunsmith fired it 3 times before that and the RifleWerks builder fired it 3 times. Super accurate... under 1/4 inch at 100yds.
I'm too rough on hardware to own something like that... I can't just look at and I can't bring myself to shoot.
That AR is one of the most amazing pieces of art I've ever seen... in a rifle... I could never bring myself to purchase it, even if I were wealthy... what purpose would it serve???
I would like to hold it just once, though...

Yes, firearms can be examples of fine artwork thus displaying the very fine interaction of brain and hand.
I would certainly like to look at it for real and would promise not to touch. Can't touch anything in the museum also. All my rifles, which I regard as tools, show signs of wear and much use, so something like the Turnbull AR would be beyond my ownership qualifications. |

Pretty much how I feel about my new Remington, and it is nothing like this rifle. I am used to my tactical stocks, which look better with dings and a couple different layers of Krylon!

While the standard black or OD AR is indeed a functional pig that AR is truly a WORK of ART and beautiful in every way! I'm with Dan after several WOWs! I'd just have to shoot it and puff there goes the investment.
