I found a Viper 2x7x32, also considered the Diamondback 2x7 and also the Leupold VX2 2x7.
Looking for decent FOV and quality for 250yds and less hunting scope.  She is learning how to raise gun with both eyes open and acquire target in scope, hence generous FOV.

I've owned Leupold since I got my first one (back in the 70's).  I've tried different brands over the years but never happy with them.  I tried a Vortex Viper PST last year.  I'm not replacing any Leupolds but for new scopes I've now purchased three Vortex Viper scopes.  Still have a couple of VX3s and a VX-L which is still a favorite on my "meat" rifle(Sako 270WSM).

I've been so brand loyal (to Leupold) that I haven't paid much attention to the market on scopes until this year.  What got me to look is the $$ that Leupold wants these days.

1st question: Is Leupold VX3 really worth the $$ compared to ?? on the market today?

2nd question: Vortex - Are they as good for the $$ as I "think" they are?

I've done searches and opinions seem to be wide - Brand loyalty I guess.

Welcome to the OT Forums. I'll be most happy to offer my opinions as others likely will.
1). The VX3 are nice... I only have one though. Are they worth the extra coin...??? There are a lot of very good choices out there to compete with the Leupy's. So many folks have Leupy blinders on and refuse to look at other options.
2). Yes, the Vortex Vipers are good. I have the 2-7 X 32 as well. The Vortex C.S. is reportedly every bit as good as the Leupy C.S.

I have no issues utilizing the Vortex over the Leupold. Hope your experiences also remain enjoyable. Good luck.
If we're not suppose to eat animals...how come they're made of meat?

question 2: yes, i too have that same scope. right now its sitting on my .375H&H. no issues. vortex makes pretty damn good stuff.

Vortex is great! The 2-7 viper is an excellent scope. The Diamondback 2-7 will have a little bit wider field of view. Either one would work well!
