These are really cheaply made. Just spent $600 for two scopes and Butler Creek caps. On the one scope the eye piece cover broke off. On the other scope the Objective cover broke off. Both were not put through any torture test, just regular use. PS the scopes and covers were bought at the end of October.......

This has been a pretty prevalent topic for the past year: they used to be an auto-buy, went on everything, worked as intended. Now, they break quickly.
Save your money, avoid Butler Creeks till they get their act together. Most scopes come with bikinis, I now use those, or go into the box of old Butler Creeks that were made before they decided to cut corners on their materials and manufacturing. They were awesome; now, not so much, Sorry you had to learn this the hard way.

I'm sorry you had that experience, but I think SWFA's answer was fair. I too had some bad juju with the latest BC caps. I have older ones that still work flawlessly.
