i have a ar-15 i just built with a 20 inch barrel i wanted to shoot between 100 to 500 yards. i was wondering which scope would work best i wanted to try a mildot reticle. i was thinking of trying swfa scopes. was not sure which one to use. never used a mildot just a duplex reticle. i handload for this gun i have it setup with a prs stock and giesselle enhanced trigger it was  shooting a 1/2inch group with cheap pmc 55 grain ammo. so i know with reloads it will be a tack driver thanks.

Price range will probably dictate which optic you select, but since this sounds like a rifle you will benchrest  I would opt for the 5-20x50 probably the non illuminated one since its a bit less expensive. If that is over your price range try for the 10xHD or at least the 3-9x42 MQ go with the mil quad reticle rather than the mil dots. If you are trying to keep cost down pick one of the fixed power scopes keeping in mind that 6x42 is the brightest and as magnification increases how bright it is in low light will be negatively effected by high power but in daylight not as much an issue as mirage on a hot day. Tell us a bit more about how you will use it will you hunt it?

I too highly recommend the new 12x SS Mil/Mil. Outstanding scope and would serve your needs.
If at first you don't secede...try..try again.
