I got a call from Mike at Cooper yesterday
I had spoke with them last year about building up a lightweight 25-06
We had a good conversation about what I wanted and he was very receptive to it
It's done and shipping!
Will post pics in about a week!
Never owned one, looking forward to it!

Although mine is the regular Jackson Hunter (not a lightweight), it is a .25-06 and is a real SHOOTER. Good luck with your new one! I'm sure you will be pleased.  Excellent

My Coopers all shoot much better than I do. They look better too.

Did they came out with a lightweight rifle? I missed it, their new website's not very good and you have to drill around to find most of the specs. If I recall from the old website all of their hunting rifles, including the Excalibur, were well over seven pounds.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing about the build Charles, congrats!!!

I've always liked 25-06, but never owned one.  Anxious to see your new Cooper...

no, they didn't have any lightweight models
I basically told them I wanted one that had a wood stock with nice wood but not premium ($) wood
and with a slight monte carlo style stock
target weight was between 6.5-7lbs
24" barrel

He thought it was a neat idea and we discussed some options on how to accomplish

I never officially ordered it and bought last year a Nosler Trophy Grade in 280AI I had in on TE
So, I had kind of blown off the idea frankly
The phone call saying it was ready was a surprise !
Glad it's a T&E item and I can pay for it later as I couln't afford to buy it right now and I don't use credit cards....

Will post pics for sure
