    Posted: April/17/2012 at 07:26
Hello

I am looking for scope ring suggestions for my Savage 12 F T/R .308.

I shoot F-Class open, 600 to 1000 yards and will have the Sightron 8-32x56 LRMOA scope.

I have used in the past SWFA SS 30mm MED rings and have not had any trouble, other than stripping one of the crossbolts.

I have nothing but good things about the Burris Signature Zee rings.  Other options include Seekins, TPS, Badger, and even Leupold QR (thinking about shooting iron sights in Palma Matches)

I would like to keep it less than $100.

Do I keep using the SWFA SS rings or change to something else.  QD is not mandatory.

Thank You

I am a fan of seekins and TPS.  TPS is probably the best "bang for your buck"

Which TPS model?  Or is it just personal preference?

TPS Tactical Scope 30mm Rings TPS Tactical Scope 30mm Rings
Stock # - TPS30571
  • Medium (1.075")
  • Alloy Steel
  • Mil-STD 1913 (Picatinny)
$77.95
Seekins Precision Scope 30mm Rings Seekins Precision Scope 30mm Rings
Stock # - SEE3087M4
  • Matte
  • Medium (0.87")
  • 4 Cap Screw
$118.95
These would be the two I looked at.   There is an alluminum TPS thats just about $10 cheaper than the steel version.  It would be fine as well.  I like the seekins because of the extremely clean design with no side nut to snag or get in the way.

Thank you SVT.

However, I have the SWFA SS medium rings and cant seem to find the height information.

You list the Seekins as (0.87) and the TPS as (1.075).

Im wondering if the Seekin mediums will be high enough for my Sightron 8-32x56 LRMOA scope?

Jeff:
I'm pretty sure that TPS LOWS will work with a 50mm objective, so I'm fairly sure a 56mm objective will work with mediums. Not sure that will help you though.

That said, you may want to give the manufacturer a call and ask them.

Good shooting!

More than welcome, though my "answer" was a little vague. Embarrased

Please report back and let others know what you find out, if you would.

You could probably call SWFA and they may have a chart that will let them know if it will fit or not.
