I am looking at these two scoped right now to get for my 270 WSM, it is going to used for deer hunting, Swaro Z3 in either 3-10x42 or 4-12x50 Plex for both, or Conquest 3.5-10x44 or 4.5-14x44 z-plex. I am looking to spend no more than 1000 dollars on either scope brand.

Having owned Z3 and a Conquest,my opinion is get you a Meopta Meostar #4 reticle @$399(SWFA) and find another venture with the money you saved.Best all around deer hunting scope I ever used.Brigher to my eyes than a Conquest and as bright as a Z3,plus Meopta's #4 reticle is unique as it is very bold closer to the center which I find very helpful in real low light.

I'll vouch for Meopta's #4 reticle, very nice!

Zeiss conquest scopes are in fact farmed out to be made by Meopta! After owning both the conquest & the Z3[which I still own in 3-9,4a]the glass is better in brightness & resolution to my eye's.

stickbow.....so are you saying that Meopta makes the Conquest scopes for Zeiss? It's been my understanding that meopta just supplies the glass for the Conquest line, but I could very well be wrong about that. Do you know for certain? Thanks.

I also have heard,(dont know the facts),That Meopta supplies the glass for the Conquest line and then Zeiss uses their own (MC) coatings. But is it not true that both Meopta and Zeiss Conquest use Schott glass? If so why would Meopta be supplying the glass?I have noticed when comparing the scopes side by side some very striking resemblance in the two scopes.

As an owner of both Conquest (formerly) and Z3 (currently), I like the glass in the Swaro a fair bit better.
I haven't see the Meopro, but it seems like a good scope that people really like.
