There's 3 of us that want to start sending in preference points for a Wyoming Antelope hunt. Does anyone know which units would be the best to send in for? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

Wyoming?
Uh ... just about anywhere. Man, there are a lot of goats in that state. Check the draw odds on the Wyoming F&G website. Worse odds = better unit.

If you have a point to burn I would look at units similar to 27. If you can get a few points saved then units like 47 are in play. Look for BLM and State lands that are not too checkerboarded, and make sure that the land has access. Wyoming G&F has lots of info about drawing odds on their website.
You might consider a one year subscription to Eastman's magazine. The magazine is not great, but they do a fairly good job of giving antelope unit information in Wyoming.

Just about all the ranchers in the state will allow you to shoot antelope. The locals don't really shoot enough of them.

Do some calling around and find out about the populations. Montana got hit hard this last winter and speedgoat numbers are way down in area that normally rancher tell you to shoot the whole herd.

Thanks for the info fellas.
I found out from my dad tonight that we've got a distant cousin in Wyoming so I'm working on tracking him down and I finally found a unit map off of the G&F website. |

Yeah probably. I'm gonna test 'em on some piggies in a couple weeks, but I have no reason to believe they won't work on speed goat. |
