I have prepared the cases and now and plan to load with 150 gr PSP Core Lokt, which is the bullet from the original firing. I have IMR-4064 powder and am using the Lyman's 49th handbook. The handbook recommends Winchester WLR primers but I have a supply of Federal Large Rifle Primers No. 210. Would the Federal primers be acceptable or should I order the Winchester.
Also, the brass has been fired once and as I have been getting ready I have read a lot about headspace measuring. I have done a full resize following the manufacturers setup instructions. Now I am confused on whether I need a headspace gauge and should put off reloading until I get one. Any advice would be appreciated.

Those primers should be fine, your FLS should be fine, just need to seat the bullet to the right COAL to get it to chamber in your gun.

The primers shouldn't be an issue. Just start at the recommended starting load and work your way up.
A case guage is what you want to use, not a headspace guage. A headspace guage measures the headspace of your firearm. A case guage measures the case to see if it is within spec. I use Dillon case guages to make sure my sized cases are properly full length sized.
While you could load without the case guage; for a bottleneck case like the 30-06 it takes the guess work out of sizing die setup.

Its good you are looking before leaping!!!
There are several here that are quite experienced in reloading and all are generous and patient with newbie reloaders. Sounds like your taking the right steps. As previously recommended always work up to the the loads listed in the books. Those loads were developed using specific brass, primers bullets(weight and design) Primers and power.
Changing primers can change ignition rate and internal peak pressures. Changes from lot to lot of the same power will behave differently too. So once you've worked up a load using one lot of your selected powder the load should be checked when news lots are purchased.
Be safe, good luck and HAVE FUN!

52.5 gr of it worked very well in my rifle. if the brass isnt from your rifle, which im assuming its not i would highly recommend that you full length size it. more than likely if you dont it will not chamber up in your rifle. one you fl size that brass once and fire it in your rifle, neck sizing will be ok. as far as primers go, large rifle anything is fine. if you hunt in colder temps a magnum primer is the way to go. i hunt in sub zero temps so i use magnum primers all the time.
