See the conquest just went up $100? Was curious as if anyone knew why? These were on my short list of scopes, but now, not too sure....
thanks

One of those, new year- new price deals. Remember when the 3-9X40 was $299?
Makes me feel old.

It makes that Meopta sound pretty good for $399 nowadays.

Ouch. They have just priced themselves out of the low-mid range scope IMO. You can buy scopes that have 90 to 95% of the optical quality for about half of that. And the Meopro has optics that are just as good IMO. Since Meopta supplies the glass for the conquest, it would only make sense they would make sure their competing product line is just as good.
That is to bad for the consumers. |

Cripes! Yeah I've been kicking the idea around myself. Guess Meopta just got bumped a position up the list.

I was thinking of getting one for my new savage m11. At 399 there are most defiantly better deals out there.

A 25% price increase. They are very proud of their scopes. It will be interesting to see if / how much their sales fall off due to this. I seriously doubt that I will purchase one now since there are other scopes for significantly less money that are very comparable.

Yeah but, the Meopro doesn't have 4" of ER and the reticle isn't quite as nice either! My guess is, the Conquest will drop again.... seems like they tried this once before. Marketing ploy maybe?

$100 price jump and no improvements? Seems like a bad idea with the competition knocking on their door.

I would not always consider 4" a plus. 3.5 is enough 90% of the time and 3.75 is plenty. My Swaro has 3.75 and I have it on a 5 3/4 lb 300 WSM and never have been hit. The Meopta has a couple more feet FOV, probably because of that 1/4 less eye relief. Which I would prefer in most cases. |

In my opinion having both the Conquest 3-9x40 and a Meopta Meopro 3-9x42;the Meopta is a better scope optically. It definately is brighter to my eyes and as well as the guys I've shown to in our hunting club.I have not had any mechanical problems and it tracked well at sight-in.Plus getting the bold and super dark etched #4 reticle at no extra cost makes this a killer deal@$399 (swfa). |

Maybe i am mis-remembering this but didn't Zeiss a couple years ago mark the Conquest down to $399 and say it was through the end of the year and just never increased it at the end of the year? Didn't they cost more initially then went down and stayed there? Again I may be mistaken. Either way at $499 its not as good of a value unless something has been added to it.

were you able to use the same height rings on both? Can't remember but I think I used "low" Warne rings with the Conquest. Sounds like I need to give the Meopro a look-see!
Thanks for the post.

just looked... was able to use the Low's on the Browning with it's short bolt throw... but meds on the 700CDL so the bolt would clear. I think the 42 still might clear for the Browning, but the scope cover might not fit. No problem with the Meds and the 42mm.
