I would find it hard to beleive Nick would let it happen twice. I'm not saying that just because I will be pulling for 'Bama. But Bama always seems to pull the greatest strength and plays when put in the situation they are currently facing.

I can't recall a national championship with 2 teams being THIS evenly matched.

Now that we've had time to reflect on the big game, let's call it for what it was -- very disappointing! It was perhaps the most boring Nat'l Championship game I've ever seen. Granted, both teams have outstanding defenses, so much so that I believe they obtained their standings mainly on their defensive strength. I've seen several college programs with far more "big play" offenses and offensive weapons at their disposal than either Bama or LSU had. Bama's defense probably had a lot to do with LSU's inability to move the ball. But having said that, LSU's offense looked VERY mediocre. They were very one-dimensional. Once it became obvious Bama wasn't going to allow them any ground on their option attack, they were done, because they had no answer in the air.

+1 Ted. I got so bored I turned it off at half-time and went to bed (and I'm an SEC guy for sure). |

Oh, I thought it was a pretty good game. Bammers dominated the game from the first snap on and in every aspect, I thought. They put on a clinic and coach Saban had them READY. Les Miles not so much.
I still can't get over the fact that Miles didn't put in Lee after Jefferson was obviously struggling. LSU had a terrific season, none the less. SEC will play for another championship next year and for the foreseeable future, which I like. Dam....I love the BCS.

I'm partial to knockdown dragout defensive games. Alabama dominated. I thought it was an excellent game.

I like good defenses as well, but I also like seeing a balanced offense that can maintain a decent drive. LSU didn't bring one. Much of LSU's offensive problems were not related to Bama's defensive dominance but rather their own lack of execution and poor quarterback play.

I believe part of that is due to the fact they got stale during the month and a half break between their last regular season game and this game, which is ridiculous.

I heard on Sirius sports radio the other day that Jefferson was throwing dice at Harrah's, I believe they said the night before the game. Hope he did better at the crap tables than he did in the game, because he rolled...... |

Yep. Hell, the LSU offensive game plan was so unimaginative and their timing and execution so poor, even when they were down 12-0 with half the game left to play, a very manageable situation for a team with a decent offense, I knew they were done. They only crossed the 50 once during the entire game.
I mean... 5 field goals and a single touchdown during an entire Nat'l Championship game... Snoozeville. |
