I have had several different IOR 3-18xs. Had the original and the 2nd and 3rd gen Snipers Hide FFP edition.
I now have the SS 5-20x and think overall it is a better scope than the ones I had. I had a lot of problems with the IORs had to send 4 3-18xs back for replacement. The IORs tunnel at the low mags so you really gain nothing in FOV at those lower powers vs the 5-20x. I like the 50mm objective on the SS better as well. Makes using 14x and 15x a bit brighter. Optically I don't think there is going to be much of a difference. |

Having owned both, I'd give the edge to SS on several points.
I do really like the MP-8 reticle though.

Jeff-
Only thing I didn't like about the MP8 is the fine dot in the center. I was stuck on Vortex's EBR 2B for a while, But my favorite it the SS. Quads make subtending, something you don't have to think about.
