Headed to South Africa in May 2012.   Impala, warthog, blesbuck, and a kudu are on the agenda (maybe a zebra). 7 mm Remington mag.   For those in the know, what r the ammo recommendations? Been shooting Hornady 154 grain custom.

i think I would step up to the 165 to 175 gr range.  That is my opinion, and I am a fan of heavier bullets myself these days.

For factory ammo I'd look at the Federal Premium 160grain Nosler Partitions.

Try various ammo brands that sport the heavier tough premium bullets i.e. TSX, Partition, A-Frame, etc. and select the one that your rifle shoots most accurately.

Barnes VORTX or Nosler Accubonds somewhere between 165-180

Has anyone seen anything bigger than 165 grain factory loaded?  I have had several 180 recommendations but no one seems to load anything bigger.  TSX seems to limit out at 160.

You might give Remington Core-Lokt a shot in the 175 gr. , my 7 mag really likes this ammo and have shot several 3/4" groups with it , and it should work well on the game you listed IMO.  I have to admit that I have never shot any game animals with this round though.

160 grain Winchester XP3's are pretty good. I have seen my buddy shoot a lot with them.
