A really good friend of mine just bought a Rem 700 ADL Youth in .243 Win. The gun came with a scope but, he says he doesn't want to rely on it and it's not what he wants anyway. He's pretty budget-limited and riflescopes are not my thing really so; I'm unsure what is available to suggest to him. I'm looking for some help.
Here's what he wants...

My experience with Burris scopes has always been positive. This one fits the bill.

I would give a nod to the Burris FFII as well.

That Burris really meets all of the requirements, and well within the stated budget. This Vortex is nearly the same thing: http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x35-Diamondback-Rifle-Scope-P11235.aspx FWIW, the Weaver K4 (http://swfa.com/Weaver-4x38-Classic-K-Rifle-Scope-P5054.aspx) or K6 (http://swfa.com/Weaver-6x38-Classic-K-Rifle-Scope-P5055.aspx) are very light, & folks report excellent tracking and surprisingly good glass for the price. Lack of a ballistic-type reticle notwithstanding, I can see either one as being right at home atop a short-action rifle destined for mountain hunting. FC
